This Saturday, December 7, 2019, NY HempLab will be hosting their second annual NY HempLab conference at the University of Rochester. NY HempLab is a non-profit, “hemp industry incubator, that will offer services to help build a thriving cannabis industry in New York, starting with hemp,” as their website states.

The conference will include panel discussions and presentations from some of the leading New York-based hemp organizations in the industry. The focus of the event will be on the leadership of New York businesses, the challenges they face as well as the innovative solutions that industry leaders have found to be able to get ahead in the hemp industry.

Presentation topics include industry overview, challenges to the emerging supply chain, the evolving role of policy and advocacy in NYS, processing bottlenecks, compliance, mechanical innovation, branding and more.

The conference keynote speaker is Dr. Harold C. Smith, founder of CannaMetrix, founder and CEO of OyaGen Inc., and a professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at the University of Rochester. Other presenters include Allan Gandelman, founder and president of the New York Cannabis Growers and Processors Association (NYCGPA), and owner and co-founder of New York Hemp Oil (NYHO) and Head and Heal, and Karli Miller-Hornick, CEO and co-founder of both NYHO and Head and Heal, Stephen Halton, CEO and founder of CNY Hemp Processing Inc., and more.
